WASHINGTON–Today, legislation introduced by Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17) passed out of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee markup. The bill, known as the "Manager Attitudes and Notions According to Government Employee Responses Act", or the "MANAGER Act," amends the annual Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS), administered by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), to add specific questions for federal agency managers. These questions will provide insight into the views of agency management in order to identify and resolve any issues affecting government employees within agencies. Topics covered by the survey include federal managers experiences with disciplining low-performing employees and general morale among supervisory employees. This legislation is part of Congressman Sessions' effort as the Chairman of the Government Operations and the Federal Workforce Subcommittee to eliminate waste and increase productivity in government agencies.

Congressman Sessions said, "Efficiency in government agencies is essential for taxpayers and government employees alike. I am committed to creating and supporting legislation that eliminates waste in our government to protect taxpayers. Federal managers are responsible for getting results to the American people. This survey will identify areas where federal employees in supervisory positions need support to ensure that our government is working effectively for our citizens."
