Congressman Sessions votes to keep the government open and continue to work on Full-Year Funding for FY24
September 30, 2023
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17) voted in favor of H.R. 5860, Continuing Appropriations Act, 2024 and Other Extensions Act. This legislation is a short-term spending extension to keep the government open, pay our troops and Border Patrol, maintain national security, and enable Congress to continue working to pass individual full-year funding bills for Fiscal Year 2024.
Congressman Sessions said, “Yesterday, I was pleased to support a continuing resolution that included significant cuts and policy changes to secure the southern border. Since that legislation did not garner enough Republican votes to pass, I voted today to keep the government open and avert a costly shutdown.
As FY24 appropriations deliberations continue, I remain determined to reduce top-line spending, restore the rule of law at the border, strengthen our national defense, and defund the Biden Administration's harmful agenda.”
