May 25, 2021
For Immediate Release: May 25, 2021
The Gold Star Family Fellowship Program was established by the House of Representatives to provide employment opportunities for families of our service members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to our nation. This program offers a year-long fellowship in a Congressional office for members of Gold Star Families to gain firsthand experience in Congress.
Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17) is seeking a Gold Star Family Member for a fellowship position in his Waco, Texas district office. The individual selected will assist the Office of Congressman Sessions in handling casework and act as a facilitator between Central Texans and federal, state, and local agencies.
“We are forever indebted to the men and women of our military for their sacrifice and dedication to protecting and promoting democracy, domestic and international,” Congressman Sessions said. “This fellowship program is part of a mission to help Gold Star Families expand their employment possibilities and access services they have earned. My office will always support the family members of our nation's fallen service members, active military, veterans, and families thereof."
Gold Star Family Members are eligible for the program if they meet all the following requirements: must be the parent, spouse, sibling, child, or step-child of a service member who either died on active duty or of a service member who received an Honorable Discharge and died due to a service-connected disability within four-years of military separation.
Interested Gold Star Family Members should contact the Office of Congressman Sessions at (254) 633-4500 or visit https://www.usajobs.gov/ and search “Gold Star Family Fellowship Program” for more information and how to apply.
