Congressman Sessions Mourns the Loss of Local Philanthropist Stan C. Parker
September 17, 2024
WACO–Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17) released the following statement today in memory of Stan Parker of the Stan C. Parker Foundation.
Congressman Sessions said, "On Sunday, our community lost a champion of service. Stan Parker was a force for good in the Waco veteran community. As the founder and operator of the Stan C. Parker Foundation, Stan dedicated his life to supporting U.S. veterans. Stan was the leader behind Freedom’s Path Waco, a project to update the Doris Miller VA campus to create housing for veterans, which broke ground earlier this year. Through his foundation, Stan organized an annual veterans’ luncheon, serving a full BBQ meal to veterans at no cost, and the Waco Veterans Day parade. Some of his other initiatives include involvement with the Masons and the Lee Lockwood Library, Ramps for Veterans, which installs wheelchair ramps, and Young Marines Training, where the Central Texas Young Marines visit the Parker Ranch for firearms and water safety training. Stan will be remembered as a selfless advocate for those in need."
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 ### |
