Congressman Sessions Appointed to Powerful FSC Subcommittees
January 26, 2023
Washington D.C.– Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17), a member of the House Financial Services Committee, was appointed by Chairman Patrick McHenry (NC-10) to the Subcommittee on Capital Markets and the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. The subcommittees will oversee all agencies, departments, programs, and matters within the Financial Services Committee’s jurisdiction.
“I would first like to thank Chairman McHenry for appointing me to both subcommittees. I also look forward to working with Chairwoman Wagner and Chairman Huizenga. The Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations is charged with rooting out and disposing of complicated, overburdensome, and arbitrary fiscal regulations that are punitive to hard-working Americans and have stifled our nation’s economic growth. As well, the Subcommittee on Capital Markets oversees and responds to operations, policy development, and the regulatory agenda of the SEC specifically. Federal agencies like the SEC have implemented policies with unintended, negative consequences for the American taxpayer. As a member of both committees, I will work with my colleagues to provide ample oversight and lead our committee to reinstitute foundational free enterprise policies and principles.”
