February 4, 2021
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17) was appointed ranking member on the Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Subcommittee for the House Oversight Committee. The subcommittee focuses on civil rights, civil liberties, and the equal protection of laws. Issues include, but are not limited to, voting rights, freedom of religion and speech, nondisclosure agreements, and equal employment. Sessions will lead the team with a strong conviction upholdiong American exceptionalism for all.
The Congressman noted his excitement for his position in the following statement. “We live in the greatest nation in the world in which Americans are inherently born with freedoms not afforded to all. We come from various backgrounds with unique perspectives yet, share the privilege of having constitutional rights and liberties. Like many Texans in the 17th district, my priorities are faith, family, and freedom... in that order. For the well-being of our great country, I vow to defend these fundamental rights.”
