Veterans of our armed services deserve our nation’s gratitude, support, and care. The federal government should be attentive to providing resources that support veterans' needs as they transition from active duty. I commit my efforts in Congress to ensure our former servicemen and women receive care and benefits that reflect the country’s appreciation for their sacrifice. Some of my efforts include:

  • H.R. 8736 – GUARD VA Benefits Act | This bill imposes criminal penalties and/or fines on individuals for soliciting, contracting for, charging, or receiving any unauthorized fee or compensation with respect to the preparation, presentation, or prosecution of any claim for Department of Veterans Affairs benefits.
  • H.R. 6659 – Health Care for Burn Pit Veterans Act | This bill updates policies and procedures related to Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care and benefits for veterans who have been exposed to toxic substances.
  • H.R. 3363 – VA Canine Reporting Act of 2023 | This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to report on the average time it took to provide a veteran with a service or guide dog in the prior year. The report must also include legislative recommendations to reduce such wait time.
