Law Enforcement

All our law enforcement agencies and officers deserve our country’s utmost appreciation. In Congress, that means providing law enforcement jurisdictions with the methods and resources necessary to be safe, successful, and transparent. I will advocate for law enforcement and work against efforts to defund our police force.

  • H.R. 743 – Protect and Serve Act | This bill would enhance penalties for anyone who targets law enforcement officers with the intent to purposefully harms them.
  • H.R. 3091 – Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act | This bill would allow current federal law enforcement officers in good standing to purchase their retired service weapon at market value from the agency that issued the weapon within six months of the end of its service life. 
  • H.R. 130 – Thin Blue Line Act | This bill expands the list of statutory aggravating factors in death penalty determinations to also include killing or targeting a law enforcement officer, firefighter, or other first responder.
