Washington D.C.– Today, Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17) voted against H.R. 2882, the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024. After the vote, Congressman Sessions released the following statement: 

“I voted against today’s spending package because it fails to address the crisis on our southern border. Texans can no longer bear the brunt of illegal migration ravaging our communities. As a co-sponsor and strong supporter of H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, I will continue to demand that Congress and President Biden restore the rule of law on our border. While this bill included several important national defense priorities that I would support independently, including many that will directly bring jobs to Texas’s 17^th District, the underlying package failed to include critical changes to border and immigration policy or other conservative priorities.”
