Press Releases

Washington D.C.– Today, Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17) voted against H.R. 2882, the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024. After the vote, Congressman Sessions released the following statement:

“I voted against today’s spending package because it fails to address the crisis on our southern border. Texans can no longer bear the brunt of illegal migration ravaging our communities. As a co-sponsor and strong supporter of H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, I will continue to demand that Congress and President Biden restore the rule of law on our border. While this bill included several important national defense priorities that I would support independently, including many that will directly bring jobs to Texas’s 17th District, the underlying package failed to include critical changes to border and immigration policy or other conservative priorities.”
