After the tragic event in Parkland last month, I immediately called the FBI’s Special Agent in Charge in Dallas to discuss the situation and we agreed to coordinate a meeting with local officials, law enforcement, and school leaders.
This week I was delighted to join my Texas colleagues on the House Floor to discuss just how tax reform has impacted the 32nd Congressional District of Texas. As North Texans opened their paychecks this month, 9 out of 10 saw an increase in their take home pay.
Last week our nation watched in horror as a deranged and unstable former student of Stoneman Douglas High School killed 17 innocent people. Tragedies like these should never happen especially in schools. No parent should ever have to fear sending their children off to school in the morning and no student or teacher should ever feel unsafe in a classroom.
