This past weekend marked the 2nd Anniversary of the tragic events that shook our city and put our police officers in the direct line of fire. They did what they were trained to do and because of that they saved countless innocent lives. Over the weekend, I was honored to join the Brotherhood of the Fallen in honoring the Dallas Police Officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
At a time when our world has become an increasingly dangerous place, our military needs to be robust, strong, and ready. Our military leaders have repeatedly voiced their concerns that over the past half-decade our forces have been pared down to skeletal levels which has stretched resources and personnel far too thin.

Last week I was delighted to welcome North Texans to our nation’s capital to discuss important issues facing our community and nation. I had the opportunity to engage with constituents advocating for mental health, members from Boeing to discuss bolstering our national defense, and more.
Meetings in Washington
This week I was delighted to join North Texans in honoring and remembering our fallen heroes who valiantly made the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation. These men and women have made an indelible mark on our history and they will never be forgotten.
As the proud father of a Navy seaman, I proudly voted to take yet another step to uphold our duty to the men and women in uniform and ensure they have the resources they need to defend our great nation. Under our Republican leadership we have made a concerted effort to increase funding, support readiness, and uphold our commitment to rebuild our military.
As a result of Republican leadership we have been able to roll back thousands of pages of Obama-era regulations. We have effectively used the Congressional Review Act process to cut through eight years of red tape that strangled our economy and shackled American businesses.
This week I joined hundreds of North Texans in honoring the life of a Dallas Police Officer who was tragically killed in the line of duty, Officer Rogelio Santander. This was a stark reminder of thedanger that our officers put themselves in every single day to protect our families and communities.
