Jan 15 2013
This week, I was delighted to be in North Texas during the District Work Week. During this critical time for our nation, I greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet with my constituents, including business and community leaders, to discuss the issues that Congress will address in the 113th Congress.
On Thursday, I met with members of the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce – an organization comprised of small business owners, entrepreneurs and business professionals from East Dallas, Northeast Dallas and the surrounding areas. As the keynote speaker for their monthly meeting, I provided an update on Congress’ recent actions regarding the fiscal cliff, and emphasized my commitment to cutting government spending.

Each year, the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce gives the “Pete Sessions Leadership Award” to an individual in the organization who has served with exemplary volunteerism. I am honored to be the namesake of this award, and was delighted to present the 2013 award to Darlene Ellison.
Congressman Pete Sessions with the Pacheco Koch Leadership Class
On Friday, I was delighted to speak to the Pacheco Koch Leadership Class in Dallas about leadership and responsibility. The Dallas-based consulting and engineering firm, Pacheco Koch, offers the class as a part of its training program for growing leaders within the organization. Participants are encouraged to take the skills that they learn in the course and apply their roles in the company. During our discussion, I enjoyed sharing with them my experiences in both the private and public sector as we discussed character, responsibility and leadership.
On Friday, I had the pleasure of being on KRLD 1080 AM, KLIF 570 AM and KSKY 660 AM to discuss my priorities for the 113th Congress and Washington’s out-of-control spending. Throughout the next two months as Congress works on legislation to cut spending, I am committed to reducing wasteful government spending that has led to skyrocketing debt and put our nation on a path towards bankruptcy.
As your Member of Congress, I believe it is important for you to hear my views on the issues being debated in Washington as often as possible. That is why I always post information about upcoming interviews on my social media pages. To get real-time updates on media appearances, connect with me on Facebook and Twitter.
The 32nd District
As you may know, congressional districts across the country changed this year due to redistricting. In this new Congress, I am delighted to represent a few areas of North Texas that I did not previously represent: Garland, Rowlett, Sachse, Wylie and Mesquite. To check to see if you are still in the 32nd Congressional District, you can visit my website or call my office at 202.225.2231.
There are several ways for constituents to connect with me to learn more about my work in Congress and to get information on the current policy debates. I encourage you to connect with me on my social media pages, visit my website, and download my new Smartphone App: Congressman Pete Sessions.
Have a good weekend.
