On March 11, 2013, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan released his budget plan for fiscal year 2014. The plan, known as, “The Path to Prosperity,” balances the budget in 10 years without raising taxes in an effort to foster a healtheir economy and help create jobs. House Republicans' responsible budget plan reforms our broken tax code, cuts wasteful government spending and tackles the drivers of our debt to put our country on a sustainable path towards fiscal solvency.
In sharp contrast, the Senate Democrats' plan, which is the first the body has submitted in four years, fails to balance the budget and includes a $1 trillion tax increase and $100 billion worth of stimulus funding.
I believe that North Texas families and small businesses deserve relief from the Administration’s tax, borrow and spend policies that stifle job creation and innovation. That is why we will continue to support legislation that removes government as a barrier to the free enterprise system and allows the American dream to thrive. I thank Chairman Ryan for his leadership on this proposal to save our children and grandchildren from the burden of debt and to create a sound financial future for the American people.
