Pete Sessions Statement in Response to President Obama’s Proposals Addressing Gun Violence
Washington, DC - U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32), Chairman of the House Rules Committee and a Member of House Republican leadership, today released the following statement in response to President Obama’s press conference regarding gun violence this morning:
“I join the American people in being deeply saddened by every incident of senseless gun violence in our nation, including the recent tragedy in Newtown, CT. My thoughts and prayers remain with all the victims and families who have been affected by these horrific crimes.
“Going forward, I will continue to tirelessly defend Americans’ right to bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment. In doing so, I will fight against the President’s unrelenting attempts to bypass Congress and further erode our Constitution.”
