Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
Please specify if you are interacting with the Dallas VA Medical Center (VA Hospital) or a VA Regional Office. The VA Regional Offices are responsible for processing claims (e.g. service-connected compensation, pension benefits, etc.) whereas the VA Hospital provides medical care for veterans. If you are a veteran requesting assistance with a VA Regional Office, please provide the following information:
- the type of claim you have pending with the VA;
- the initial date you filed your claim;
- the VA Regional Office where your claim is located and;
- any veterans service organizations that you have contacted for assistance.
More information, including VA forms, can be found online at www.va.gov.
The Dallas VA Medical Center is located at:
4500 South Lancaster Road
Dallas, Texas 75216
(800) 849-3547
(214) 742-8387
A note of caution:
There are many organizations offering to file paperwork for veterans and promising benefits. Given the amount of personal information (e.g. Social Security number, birth date, address, etc.) required on VA forms, my office strongly advises constituents to use caution when selecting a third party to assist you in filing a claim with the VA.
If you are a veteran or the family member of a veteran and need assistance filing for a claim, please consider going to a trusted veteran service organization for help. Examples of these include Dallas County’s Veteran’s Service Office, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC).
