A Message From Pete
Dear Students of Texas:
I believe that all of you are the key to our state’s future. As young people, you have immense opportunity before you, and if you set your mind to it, you can accomplish whatever you want to do. I believe that one of the greatest blessings of our country is freedom: the right to make your own decisions about your life and to control your own future. Freedom is something that many Americans, from George Washington; to Abraham Lincoln; to Martin Luther King, Jr.; to our brave men and women serving in our military have fought to give to each of us. My hope is that all children in America will develop the ability to live and succeed in our free society, with the benefit of a strong education and the opportunity for a good job.
I also believe in the importance of learning about our government and participating in the legislative process. There are many opportunities for Texas students to get involved—internships are a very rewarding way to gain experience and insight into the world of public service. I offer several internship programs in my Washington, D.C. and Dallas District offices. College students may be able to receive academic credit for their internship. Please check with your college or university for more details.
If you are interested in interning in my Washington, DC office, please email Genevieve.Bresnahan@mail.house.gov if you are a college or high school student. If you are interested in interning in my Dallas office, please email Rachel.Wong@mail.house.gov.
Thank you for visiting my website and for your interest in what I do. I encourage you to explore the links about Congress and the educational resources on this site, and I wish you the very best!
